In his New Year's Day devotional, our pastor gave us the challenge of reading through Psalm 119 and writing a poetic expression of God's word. I focused on all the verses related to the word "law". They came together like this.

My soul is consumed with longing

My flesh trembles in awe and fear

I desire Your salvation

With willing praise let me draw near.

I have chosen the path of truth

I have set my heart on Your ways

You preserve my life and comfort

You sustain me all of my days.

For Your law, O LORD, is my delight

Your words are good; Your commands are right

I meditate on them day and night

Your law, O LORD, is my delight.

The arrogant dig pitfalls

The wicked devise their schemes

Their hearts are callous and unfeeling

Tears from my eyes stream.

Hear my voice and deliver

Look upon my suffering

Without You I would perish

Your love is my covering.

For Your law, O LORD, is my delight

Your words are good; Your commands are right

I meditate on them day and night

Your law, O LORD, is my delight.

You law, O LORD, is my delight.
