Calling the Night Down

wlpark7856

Sometimes, I just have fun playing with words in a poem. This poem personifies "long," "wide," "expanse," and "sky" as part of the description of night. If you have ever viewed the Texas sky that feels like it stretches into eternity, then long, wide expanse of sky makes sense.

Long stretched the shadows

Casting peace to the ground

Calling the night down.

Wide gathered ombre

Flung it all around

Calling the night down.

Expanse marshaled stardust

Dispersed it in the background

Calling the night down.

Sky sang a lullaby

To all who are earthbound

Calling the night down.
