Waking up this morning with a dozen thoughts swirling led to the creation of this poem during my prayer time. It reminded me to cast all my cares on Him.
Soothe my soul, O LORD
Soothe my soul
The ragged, fraying edges
All that seems unraveling
Eroding and wearing me thin
Mend and restore
And soothe my soul.
Quiet my soul, O LORD
Quiet my soul
The ruckus and rumble
Of a thousand raging battles
Barraging and assaulting
Calm and still
And quiet my soul.
Rejuvenate my soul, O LORD
Rejuvenate my soul
The dampened and deadened
Fragments of my heart
Weakening and deteriorating
Reinvigorate and revive
And rejuvenate my soul.
